Maurice Jones has served as the Head coach for the past 8 years as well as President/Vice President since the inception of the Club. Coach Jones has an impressive coaching path working with Division I athletes, junior college players, as well as high school teams. His resume includes coaching stops at Arizona, Pima CC, USAFA Prep School, USAFA, Pine Creek High School, and Woodland Park High School. Coach Jones has garnered scholarships for over 30 high school athletes, men and women. While at the USAF he worked with college athletes on skill progression and worked with the recruiting office to place athletes. The stellar accomplishments of Coach Jones have the Stars primed for tremendous growth and success on the floor. Coach Jones is a proud 20 year AF retiree. |

Jake Helsham brings 10+ years of coaching experience to the Stars program, with coaching stops in Arizona, Hawaii, and Germany. Coach Helsham has an outstanding basketball history, including representing American Samoa in the 1983 South Pacific Games as a Gold Medalist winner! Jake played at American Samoa Community College and on several Air Force base teams; capturing an installation championship at Kwand Ju, Korea. Jake has 4 years of NCAA recruiting expertise through his position at the United States Air Force Academy. Coach Helsham is a proud 20 year Air Force retiree. |

Jerome Ford has been coaching youth basketball since 1996 and is in his 2nd season with the Stars. He has been the coach for the Boys and Girls Club of America for 4 years, while also serving as a mentor for over 100 children. During his time in Georgia, “J” coached at multiple community centers. His presence has been felt by many children across the country. He brings in intensity and drive that will serve the young men of Stars well as they progress through basketball. Coach Ford is currently Active Duty Air Force for the past 18 years. |

Gerald Romero will start his second year coaching as an assistant on the top girls’ team for the Stars. He has over six years of experience in individual player development with a strong focus at the guard positions. His previous experience includes coaching and mentoring in various youth programs in the local area. Gerald's love and passion for basketball and youth leadership experience is a great asset to the program. Gerald is also a local product graduating from Palmer High School where he played football. |

Jeff Soto is in his first year with our program. His competitive basketball experience started in junior high school and continued at Vanden High School outside of Travis AFB, CA. Soto was also a part of the number one ranked Div. IV team and competed in the Northern California State Championship game. He was named tournament MVP and All League First Team that same year. Currently, he is a TSgt in the Air Force for the past 15 years. Coach Soto brings a fresh set of ideas and adds another valuable source of instruction as a coach that has played at a high level of basketball by being on a State Championship team |

Amber Wilmore is a first year coach for the Stars. Coach Wilmore is a “home-grown” athlete who is also a four year Stars alumni. A tremendous high school career led Amber to the 2009 USAF Academy Women’s team. Amber was also recognized by being selected to play in the 2008 4A/5A Colorado All-Star game. In 2007, she led Falcon High School in points and assists and was selected to the Metro League All-Conference 1st team. Coach Wilmore brings youth, energy, and passion to this staff. She has been there and has done it at the highest levels. Coach Wilmore is one of the best athletes in Colorado in the past 10 years. |

Coach De George is also a local product, having graduated from Rampart High School in 2007. Cayla was a 3 year varsity starter, serving as captain for her last 2 seasons. She received a scholarship and played college basketball at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology for two years. Coach De George has international experience by playing in Germany and Belgium against National Elite teams in those countries. She has also coached camps and clinics overseas as well as in the United States. |

Karly Lindroth-Yates is a first year coach in our program and a 2010 graduate of Colorado Springs School and is now attending University of Hastings. This 1000 point scorer was 1st Team Black Forest League. Karly brings strong credentials to the Stars: Denver Post All State Honorable mention, CSS MVP, and Max Preps 2A 2nd team All-State. Karly’s recent first-hand knowledge will be vital to our young athletes looking to make similar leaps past high school. |

New coach David Beals is a 20 year USAF veteran that has been involved with youth over the past 20 years. He has knowledge and experience to motivate and teach kids how to be team players and leaders. He has a unique ability to push young kids to be the best that they can be. Currently working as a full-time Network Engineer at the Colorado Springs Police Department, David occasionally rides shot-gun with police officers to see first-hand how important it is for youth to get off the streets and get involved in sports. He also realizes how important it is to be a good role model to our young adults. Dave will be a valuable asset in the way of life lessons for our young players. |
